Suao - Processed Mackerel Mackerel is nicknamed “Hua Fei” in Chinese and has a DHA content next only to that of tuna, is a high quality aquaculture product with high protein and low fat. Seine fishing for Mackerel is commonly practiced in the Suao area. In the past, due to the difficulty to preserve freshness, Mackerel at fair prices often were made of canned products. Along with the advancement of low temperature storage technology, Mackerel in vacuum packaging is now available for more diversified choices of consumers.
