The fish ponds in SiGu mainly farm hard clams and fish. On the seaward side of the breakwater, vast stretch of oyster farms can be seen, and many local inhabitants make their living by shelling oysters. They make wind chimes from oyster shells and with the combination of artworks made from drifting bamboo they have created the village into a happy community full of laughter. Staff of the local community association takes the role of tour guides, and they have revealed the legend of the wetlands. Facing the inflow of tourists, the friendly and humble inhabitants of SiGu do not feel any disturbance but instead they welcome the tourists with open-armed passion and hospitality, sharing the beauty of the wetlands: the birds, the wind, and the tides are all parts of their lives and sources of their happiness.
