The South Korea’s Channel A TV station posted the clarifying text of Taiwan’s tilapia on its official website and further clarified this issue in the TV
The South Korea’s Channel A TV station posted the clarifying text of Taiwan’s tilapia on its official website and further clarified this issue in the TV The South Korea’s Channel A TV station show “X-files of food” defamed the quality of Taiwan Tilapia on 25th October 2013 and caused negative impacts on the industry. To address this wrongful defamation, the Fisheries Agency took prompt actions and discussed the issue thoroughly with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and representatives of the industry. And the Fisheries Agency assisted in the task of providing the clarifying texts to the Channel A TV station through the Taipei Mission in Korea. Accordingly, the Channel A TV station posted the clarifying texts on its official website on 15th November 2013 and further clarified this issue in the TV show on 22nd November 2013. The clarifying texts read: “By our understanding, the algae-covered ponds that appeared on the programme were disused facilities and that the water quality in Taiwan’s tilapia fish farms meets international standards.”
