The Council of Agriculture is the fisheries policy decision-making agency of the central government. The Fisheries Agency, which is an autonomous body under the Council of Agriculture, is the highest fisheries administrative agency. It is responsible for planning and implementation of various fishery policies and fishery outreach work. In different levels of local governments, fisheries divisions or sections are established for fisheries administration and fisheries outreach work.
