Milk Fish is regarded as an exclusive gourmet food by the public. Traditionally, in the Mituo area, when daughters were getting married, their parents made fish floss as wedding gifts. The production process begins with steaming the Milk Fish and then stir frying it. Then the 220 fine bones of each milk fish are removed. It is a time consuming process and so Milk Fish are also called the "Fish of the missing". At present, the Mituo Fishermen’s Association has launched a “Milkfish” Gift Set for Daughters as its feature souvenir. |
